Mutulu Village is situated in the Ikutha Division of Mutumo District,
in the Eastern Province of Kenya 350 KM from Mombasa and about 315KMfrom Narobi.

According to population census of 1999-2009, the entire Population of the village was 17,421-23,000. The population for the whole district was between 68,980 and 92,550 people.

According to a social ecomical situation and analysis in Mutomo district in 1992, the population increased by four times. The population density at the time was 15 persons per square kilometer. This is so because the main part is occupied by the Tsavo national park thus with the growth rate of 2.23% can be termed as high.

GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES:-
The altitude of district is between 400-700m above see level. The hilly ridges separated by low-lying areas which characterise it. To the west the main feature is the Yatta Plateau which is almost plain with shallow spaced valleys. The climate is semi-arid and with unreliable rainfall. The arid ranges between 300-900mm with 40% Reliability.

The topography of the landscape influences the amount of rainfall received, thus the high areas of the plateau receive more rain. The area expenses high temperatures throughout the year, the hottest months being June, September, January and February. The rest of the district comprises of plains, low valleys and mountains.
